Harold Beeson
Harold Ray Beeson, 87, of Jayess, passed away Nov. 16, 2021. He was born Dec. 1, 1933, in Lincoln County to Clarence and Cordelia Reid Beeson.
A funeral service was held Nov. 18 at Providence Baptist Church in Jayess. A graveside service followed in the Providence Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mr. Harold was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force; his devotion to military service was exemplary. He also served as captain of the Brookhaven Fire Department. He was a hard worker who was always busy as long as he was able to be. He was a dedicated member of Providence Baptist Church, where he loved to serve, especially in the kitchen and by singing in the choir. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family camping, fishing, and traveling–especially the family trips to Florida. He was a friend to many and was known for his smile, laughter, and “his hair.” He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Wanda Ann Beeson; along with his children, Rachel McQuade (Jim), of Sacramento, Calif.; Carrie “Snookie” Winborne (Mike), of Bogue Chitto; Lori Thames (Steve), of Katy, Texas; Lyn Foster (Ronnie), of Wesson; William “Billy” Beeson (Stacy), of Magee; Becky King (Stanley), of Jayess; Beth Lawrence McPhail, of Jayess; Phyllis Lawrence, of Jayess; and Trisha (Jesse James) Warren, of Jayess. Mr. Harold also leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his stepmother, Clara Beeson; two children, Robin L. Simmons and Phillip “Flip” Lawrence; as well as his six brothers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Luke’s Hospice, especially to his “buddies” Kristy Howse and Samantha Thames Shepherd.
