Charles Stephens Belk
Charles Stephens Belk, of Pensacola Beach, Fla., passed away at home on Nov. 11, 2021.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on December 11, 1943, he grew up in Camden, Ark., exploring the countryside where he enjoyed fishing and hunting along the Ouachita River. He had such great stories to tell and reminisced frequently about his friends and their hunting camp. He graduated in 1961 from Fairview High School and received a BA degree in art and psychology from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark., in 1965. Steve loved history and spent endless hours researching his family genealogy. He was a natural entertainer and was gifted in art, music, and storytelling.
He retired from a career he loved–30 years as an executive director for the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
Steve was a gentle giant with a unique positive outlook on life. He always had a joke with the capacity to make everyone laugh. To know Steve was to love Steve.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy Ard Belk; children, Stephanie Williams and husband Joe Williams, Rebecca Vivoni and husband Jean Paul Vivoni, Todd McCain and wife Elizabeth McCain; grandchildren, Sterling Smith, Gian Reece Vivoni, Sydney Jo Williams, Aynsley McCain, and AnnaBeth McCain.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, Fla., is handling the arrangements.
