Jose “Chi Chi” Garza Maldonado

Jose “Chi Chi” Garza Maldonado, 68, of Monticello, passed away Oct. 25, 2021. He was born Jan. 19, 1953, in Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico to Jose and Oralia Rivera Maldonado.

Chi Chi loved to work with his hands and found his passion in his work. He was an accomplished brick mason. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, jogging, and spending time outdoors. He loved his family and enjoyed returning to visit family and friends in Mexico. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Maria, of Monticello; his daughters, Amber Vining (Terry), of Brookhaven; and Esmeralda Maldonado, of Monticello. He is also survived by his mother, four brothers, four sisters, along with his four grandchildren, and a best friend, Lee Roy White, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Johnny Rodriguez.
