Jeff Riley
Funeral services for Jeff Edward Riley were held Sept. 29, 2021, at New Hebron Baptist Church in New Hebron. Committal followed in New Hebron Cemetery. Rev. Mike Grenn officiated. Mr. Riley, age 65, departed this life to live eternally with his Lord late Saturday evening, Sept. 25 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Saulters Moore Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Serving as active pallbearers were Garrett Riley, Harry Little, Joe Trahan, Glenn Fabre, Allan Miller, and Richmond Boyd. Honorary pallbearers were Heath Thomas, Charlie Newsom, Wayne Morrison, and Charlie Lott.
Mr. Riley was born on Feb. 7, 1956, in Jackson to John Henry and Rushell Sandifer Riley. Jeff spent his career working in the offshore oil drilling industry. He retired as a deck foreman with Trans Ocean Oil Drilling after 20+ years of service, then went to work as a deck foreman for Seadrill Americas. In his youth, Jeff played softball on the New Hebron Baptist Church league and also showed cattle. As an adult, he had a great passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jeff loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He was a member of New Hebron Baptist Church.
Mr. Riley was preceded in death by his parents.
He will be remembered as a loving father by his two sons, John Corey Riley (Holli) and Kyle Weston Riley, both of New Hebron. He also leaves one brother, Silas Paul Riley (Becky), of New Hebron; and his three grandchildren, John Findley Riley, Ramsey Kate Riley, and Harrison Riley.
