Sybil Kay Langston Benson

Funeral services for Sybil Kay Langston Benson were held Aug. 21, 2021, at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Ms. Kay, 73, went home to be with our Lord and Savior “Jesus Christ” on Aug. 20 at her residence in Silver Creek. Interment followed in Old Silver Creek Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Ms. Kay was born on March 11,1948, in Jackson to Frank Parker Langston and Mary Alice “Miss Judy” Fortenberry Langston. Ms. Kay married James Everett “Bo” Benson on May 20, 1980. She worked almost 44 years in the banking system and retired from First Bank in Monticello. Ms. Kay was a life member of Old Silver Creek Baptist Church, where she held numerous positions in the church during her lifetime. She was a kind, sweet, pretty, and strong lady who survived breast cancer but could not beat the Alzheimer’s disease. She died at home under St. Luke Home Health and Hospice care, and a special “thank you” goes out to these nurses. Ms. Kay loved the Lord, her church, dogs, flowers, and “Bo.”
Ms. Kay was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bo Benson. Ms. Kay was an only child.
