Paul B. Johnson
Paul B. Johnson, 81, of Silver Creek, passed away April 22, 2021, at his residence. Paul was born Jan. 21, 1940, to James and Hattie Davis Johnson.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 15 at Divide Methodist Church, 8 Divide Rd., Monticello, MS 39654. Bro. Matthew Lambert will officiate the service. Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Paul retired from the oilfield after working over 40 years. He proudly served his country in the Mississippi National Guard at Monticello.
Paul had a love for fishing and spent many hours on the Pearl River. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was a kind-hearted man who enjoyed caring and providing for others, especially friends and family. Paul will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Paul is survived by his wife, Debra Johnson of Silver Creek; daughters, Dena Bedson (Jamie), of Natchez; Debbie Schwartz (Joe), of Albuquerque, N.M.; Tandy Holmes (Matt), of Divide; son, Paul B. Johnson Jr. (Claudia), of Silver Creek; sister-in-law, Nancy Ann Johnson, of Monticello; brother, Arrie Douglas Johnson (Charlotte), of Monticello; sister, Martha Lou Ballard, of Monticello; grandchildren, Alaina Bedson Lee, of Vidalia La.; Kristine Bedson, of Natchez; Paula Reeves (Clyde), of Bogue Chitto; Joshua Schwartz, Cailtlin Schwartz, Evan Schwartz, all of Albuquerque, N.M.; Erin Mccollum (Dillan), of Monticello; Austin Holmes (Erin), of Divide; Amber Johnson, Brieanna Johnson, Marc Johnson, all of Silver Creek; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, classmates, and friends.
Proceeding him in death were his parents; stepfather, Melvin Dewitt Evans; son, Marcus HR Johnson; brother, James Leon Johnson III; sister, Omelia Tyson; and great-granddaughter, Braylin Case.
