Emit Ray Bridges

Graveside services were held March 20, 2021, at New Zion Baptist Church, Oakvale, for Emit Ray Bridges, 55, who died March 6 at The Care Center of Laurel. Rev. Korey Langston officiated, with Johnson Funeral Home handling arrangements.
Mr. Bridges was born to Fleta and Moses Bridges. He attended New Zion Baptist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, and his job as a mechanic. He was in a bad accident that changed his life in 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Fayette Bridges; and two half-brothers, Warren Bridges and Saggie Bridges.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bridges; son, Demarcus Bridges; daughter, Darion (Tressie), of Pinola; other children, Torrie Sandifer, of Collins; Lorrie (Dana) Turner, of Hattiesburg; Lamont (Quanda) Sandifer, of New Hebron; Melvin Sandifer, Laressa (Shun) Hobbs; siblings, Mary Bridges, of Houston, Texas; Hattie Pittman, of Silver Creek; Milton (Sandra) Bridges, of Jackson; Michael (Rosa) Bridges, of Prentiss; Gwendolyn Bridges, of Houston, Texas; and dear friend, Tony Ford, of Silver Creek.
