Lynn D. Russell

Lynn D. Russell, 84, of Monticello, passed away on Oct. 26, 2020, at his residence. A service was held Oct. 29 at Tilton United Methodist Church in Jayess, with graveside services following in Tilton Cemetery. Bro. Chance May officiated, with Wilson Funeral Home handling arrangements.
Lynn was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Lawrence County, to Leon and Pauline Hamilton Russell. Lynn served his country in the United States Air Force. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. Lynn was a master woodworker for over 50 years, where he built the pulpit, cross, and baptistry tables for Tilton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He was a member of Tilton United Methodist Church. Lynn will be missed by everyone.
Those preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Harold Russell and J.W. Russell; and stepdaughter, Angela Coon Calcote.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 27 years, Beverly Russell, of Monticello; son, Robbin Russell (Donna), of Tennessee; daughter, Judy Wallace (Danny), of Tennessee; stepson Todd Coon (Misty); one sister, Ann Pace (Dr. Brantley Pace); one brother, Glen Russell (Mary Ann); grandchildren, Hannah Grayson, Cody Calcote, Eli Coon, Ashton Coon, Christopher Coon, Leslie Young (Jeremy), Capt. Wesley Russell (Grace), Zack Wallace (Kaley), Logan Russell, and Leah Russell.
