Geneva Smith Lewis

Geneva Smith Lewis, 83, of Nola, passed away Oct. 23, 2020.
Geneva was the daughter of the late Edna Farmer and Willie P. “Buddy” Smith. She was born in Lawrence County on Oct. 2, 1937, and raised in the New Zion community. She attended Monticello High School and was employed with Ward’s Restaurant in Monticello for more than 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hillary Lewis; brother, Earl Smith; and brother-in-law, Lonnie Lewis.
Geneva is survived by her daughter, Melissa Lewis Mayer; son-in-law, Jim; granddaughter, Annie; grandson, Will; and siblings, Frank Smith (Rita), of Utica; Marie Marcus, of Thorsby Ala.; Betty Sue Gandy (Daniel), of Linden, Ala.; Carolyn Sauls (Glen), Grady Smith (Susan), Glenn Smith (Patricia), and sisters-in-law, Linda Foster and Catherine Lawrence, both of Monticello; and JoAnn Lewis, of Sontag.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or St. Luke’s Hospice in Monticello.
