The annual Pearl River Clean Sweep will be held Sept. 19. There will be two locations in Lawrence County for land and water-based cleanup – Atwood Water Park and Wanilla Water Park. Meetup time is 8 a.m. For water-based cleanup, you must provide your own watercraft. Sunday, Sept. 20
The Southwest Chapter of ABATE will have its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20 at Jeffrey’s Cycle Supply of Brookhaven. Jeffrey’s is located at 3326 East Lincoln Road, big metal building on the right, eight miles from Highway 84. Plans will be made for the next Flower Run. Meetings are open to the public. Thursday, Sept. 24
The Lawrence County Historical Society meeting planned for Sept. 24 had been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
Oct. 1-3
The Lawrence County Historical Society will hold its annual garage sale from 7 a.m. until on Oct. 1-3 at Monticello Methodist Protestant Church Christian Life Center, 937 F.E. Sellers Hwy., Monticello.
Saturday, Oct. 3
The Southwest Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. of Miss. will hold its second Flower Run Saturday, Oct. 3, starting at the Crossroads Exxon in Brookhaven, corner of Highways 84 and 51. The group will meet at 9:30 a.m. and leave at 10 to place flowers on the graves of fallen members, and place one footstone. The ride is open to the public and all vehicles. Religious Events
New Hope Baptist Church Homecoming, scheduled for Oct. 11 has been canceled this year due to the COVID virus. Plans are to resume the Homecoming tradition next year on the second Sunday of October.
