Eula Lee Parkman

Funeral services were held Aug. 18, 2020, at Oakvale Baptist Church for Eula Lee Parkman, 84, of Oakvale, who passed away Aug. 15 at her residence, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and brother. Interment was at Oakvale Baptist Church Cemetery. Bros. Eddie Myers and Jay Hays officiated.
Mrs. Eula was a long-time resident and staple of the Oakvale community. Some called her “Momma” and some called her “Nanny,” but all knew her for her kindness and generosity towards others. She raised her children fishing on the Pearl River and teaching them the hard work of gardening. She loved flowers, hummingbirds, canning vegetables, and loving on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. More than anything, she loved cooking for her family and friends, especially the Pearl River Valley Electric crews. She exemplified to her children and grandchildren the true meaning of unconditional love. Eula had a deep love and relationship with her Lord and surrendered her life to Him at a later age in life. Her gifts of cooking and sharing her labors of love were the results of God’s blessings in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Toopie” Parkman Sr.; her parents, Noel and Agnes Skinner; three grandchildren, Ron Huntley, Thomas Pierce, Baby Boy Keyes; seven sisters, Bessie Donahue, Pauline Cogan, Jeanette Brewer, Lillie Mae King, Virginia Odom, Martha Pittman, Dorothy “Tootsie” Barrett; five brothers, Noel Skinner Jr., Joel Skinner, Gene Skinner, Gerald Skinner, Norbert Skinner; her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jimmie Parkman; and four best friends, Yvonne Daniel, Bert Grayson, Patsy Turnage, and Tommy Letchworth.
She is survived by five daughters, Agnes Keyes, Becky Pierce (Danny), Charlotte Huntley (Clark), Angie Smith (Tony), Yvette Stephens; two sons, George “Bubba” Parkman Jr. (Gloria), Johnny Parkman (Joann); one step-daughter, Janice Wilson (Richard); one brother, Harold Skinner (Vera); 13 grandchildren, Josh Bullock (Holly), Derek Pierce (Jessica), Amy Potter (Blake), Bill Bullock, Andrew Keyes, Keith Russell (Kellie), Hank Russell, Brittney Gill (Jacob), Summer Stephens, Sierra Stephens, Justin Parkman (Jessie), Zachery Parkman (Sonja), Tiffany Wallace (Adam); and a number of great-grandchildren.
