Sidney Lambert
Funeral services for Sidney Lambert, 80, of Jayess, were held July 31, 2020, at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, with burial following in the Lambert Field Cemetery in Jayess. Bro. Otto Martin III officiated the services, with Wilson Funeral Home handling arrangements.
Mr. Lambert passed from this life on July 28 at his residence. He was born on Oct. 19, 1939, in Lawrence County, to Louie and Tera Cupstid Lambert. In 1961, he joined the Army reserves and served his country until 1973. He started his working career at the B&B Dairy then going to Montgomery Elec. for 11 years. In 1977, he started working for Delphi Electric in Brookhaven for 28 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed farm life and raising cattle and horses, coon hunting, riding motorcycles, and spending time with grandchildren, Hayden and Lily. He was a loving father and husband who had a special place in his heart for all his nieces, nephews, and siblings. Anyone who knew him always had a story to tell about some joke he told or prank he pulled.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Billie Hewitt, Betty Sue Roberts; and brothers, Cleveland and Pat Lambert.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Lanelle Smith Lambert; son, LaRue Lambert; grandchildren, Hayden and Lily Lambert; sisters, Robbie Delaughter, Elaine Hollingsworth, and Leona Martin; sister-in-law, Jean Lambert; and a host of family and friends, too many to mention here.
