District five school board election qualifying deadline opens

The qualifying period for district five school board member begins Wednesday, August 5 and runs until 5 p.m. Friday, September 4.
School board terms are staggered, and district five is the only one that will be on the ballot this year.
Anyone interested in running for this position is encouraged to contact the Lawrence County Circuit Clerk’s office at 601-587-4791, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, for more information.
The position will be on the ballot Tuesday, November 3.
