Melba June Berry
Melba June Berry, 80, of Monticello, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 23, 2020. The family held a private church service on May 27, followed by a graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookhaven. Moore Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Berry was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, cooking, and just staying busy. She was a special person to those who knew her, and you could talk to her about anything. She was a strong fighter who loved people, and they loved her. Above all else, she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Myrtle Lambert; her grandsons, Justin David Smith and Mason Berry; and her brothers, Grover Lambert, Glenn Lambert, and Wayne Lambert.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ford Berry, of Monticello; her son, David Smith, of Monticello; her daughter, Lisa (Ken) Griffith, of Monticello; her step-sons, David Berry, of Prentiss; Mark (Neeley) Berry, of Somerset, Wis.; and Mike Berry, of Carson; her grandchildren, Brandi (Jason) Bryant, of Prentiss; Tiffani (Seth) Ferguson, of Wesson; Kaci Bass, of Monticello; Benjamin (Tracy) Cooper, of Glenn Allan; Shane Berry, of Sumrall; Morgan Berry, of Prentiss; Derrick Berry, of Somerset, Wis.; Hayden Berry, of Somerset, Wis.; and Madelyn Berry, of Prentiss; her great-grandchildren, David Cody Bryant, Devyn Bryant, Drew Bryant, Hayden Griffith, Hunter Bass, Kenli Bass, Charlie Ferguson, Anna Ferguson, Alli Ferguson, Cassidy Cooper, Ashlyn Cooper, Owen Berry, and Hawk Berry; her sisters, Murle Neal, of Florence; and Mildred Boyles, of Monticello; and a host of nieces and nephews.
