LCHS graduation ceremony plans announced

Lawrence County School District has announced plans for high school graduation. Currently, the ceremony is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 18 at the Lawrence County High School Football Field. Plans are subject to change.
Safety measures will be in place to allow for social distancing. Each senior will receive two tickets for guests to attend, which will allow for attendees to be seated six feet apart.
For those not attending, the ceremony will be broadcast via livestream on the “Lawrence County School District” and “Updates from the Principal” Facebook pages. It will also be recorded for later viewing.
To give seniors recognition, each is being spotlighted on the “Updates from the Principal” page. Senior awards will be presented via the page sometime next week.
Plans are underway to place banners honoring each senior in downtown Monticello, beginning near Ramey’s on F.E. Sellers Hwy. and ending at the Lawrence County Courthouse. The banners will remain in place until the graduation ceremony and will be presented to each student following the ceremony.
