Local water association eliminates asbestos pipe

Many water associations have long had asbestos pipes within their systems. Although this poses no health risk in water delivery, it does create problems when work, such as cutting which creates possible inhalation of fibers, on the pipe occurs. The Sontag-Wanilla Water Association has one stretch of asbestos pipe, a little over a mile in length, but will soon have it eliminated.
