The Mighty Pearl crested at 31.82 feet

The Mighty Pearl crested at 31.82 feet overnight Friday into Saturday morning in Lawrence County. These photos, taken Friday afternoon, show the effects of the flooding in Monticello. Pictured above are Main Street, Jefferson Street and Runnels Creek Park inaccessible due to floodwaters. The picture was taken facing City Hall at approximately 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. At left, what was steps going from the deck at Cooper’s Ferry Park to the water’s edge is nearly engulfed by floodwaters. The floodwaters affected many areas of the county, causing road and bridge closures, including those on Highway 184, Highway 84W, Old Highway 27N, and River Road.
