SCOUTS SUNDAY CELEBRATED
– Cub Scouts from Pack 126 and Boy Scouts from Troop 126 participated in the morning worship service at Monticello United Methodist Church Sunday in celebration of Scout Sunday. Scouting designates the second Sunday of February each year as Scout Sunday. One of the points of the Scout Law is that a Scout is reverent, and the Sunday celebration illuminates the importance of that premise in life. A soup and salad meal was held following the service as a fund-raiser for the United Methodist Men, to be used in their sponsorship of local scouting activities. The local Cub Scouts Pack welcomes boys in kindergarten through fifth grade and meets at the Monticello United Methodist Church on Monday evenings. The Monticello Scout Troop welcomes boys who have completed the fifth grade or have turned 11 years old. The troop meets at 5:30 on Tuesday nights at Cooper’s Ferry Park in Monticello. .
