Atwood Water Park in Monticello re-opened Monday after flooding from recent rains forced its closure in mid-January.
According to Mayor Martha Watts at Monday’s Monticello Board of Aldermen meeting, three of the rental cabins sustained some water damage to the floors, but these are being repaired. An additional problem during the closure was the lack of a proper gate at the park’s entrance. The Board accepted a bid of $2,896 from Dillan McCollum to construct a new gate for the entrance to the park.
5The Recessed Monticello Board of Aldermen Meeting will be held Tuesday, February 18, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, with the date changed due to the President’s Day Holiday.
