Aliby Joseph “A.J.” Pennington

Aliby Joseph “A.J.” Pennington, 82, of Monticello, passed away at his residence on December 31, 2019. He was born to Aliby and Roseann Pennington on May 1, 1937. He was retired from ODECO/Diamond Offshore after nearly 45 years. After retirement, he was self-employed with VJ’s Custom Framing for 17 years, where he enjoyed meeting new people and old friends at the weekend festivals.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dink Smith Pennington; his parents; an infant son, Ricky Pennington; brothers, Wilson Pennington and P.D. Pennington, and sister, Audrey Reid.
He is survived by a son, Jerry (Wanda) Pennington of Monticello, and daughters, Sheila (Jackie) Taylor of Monticello and Gina Russell of Clinton. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held January 4, 2020, at Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello. Bro. Michael Smith officiated the service.
