Marnee Allen Rumowicz

Marnee Allen Rumowicz died Tuesday, August 27, 2019. A Monticello native and graduate of Monticello High School Class of ‘63, Marnee called a vast array of locations her home, including Chicago, Houston, and Atlanta, before returning to Mississippi in 1994. She was a lifelong beauty queen; avid reader and crossword puzzle aficionado; tirelessly devoted mother; and reigning expert on all things Elvis Presley.
Marnee is survived by her son, Lance Rumowicz, of Clearwater, Florida; sisters, Susan Allen Bryan (David) of Houston, Texas, and Jane Allen Evans (Bob) of Monticello; and a host of other beloved friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marnee A. Allen, and her father, Frank C. Allen.
Services were held at Monticello Baptist Church in Monticello at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Interment followed in Hazlehurst Cemetery. Visitation began an hour before the service at the church. Brother Jimmy Harvey officiated at both services. The pianist was Mrs. Billie Lawrence, and the soloist was Mrs. Charlotte Ready.
Serving as pallbearers were nephews Josh Foster, Jared Evans, Nathan Evans, Benton Evans, and Joseph Evans; and brother-in-law David Bryan.
