Deloris Calcote
Mrs. Deloris Calcote, 82, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019, at Lawrence County Hospital. She was born February 2, 1937, in Tylertown to Simeon and Olivia “Nannie” Breeland Morgan.
Graveside services were held at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello on Monday, August 19, 2019. Bro. Michael Smith and Bro. Philip Alford officiated the services. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Calcote was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was active for many years; worked for 25 years at Lawrence County Hospital where she worked as an LPN, and enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She believed in education and always enjoyed helping her grandchildren with school projects and lessons. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Barney Lee Calcote; children, Tanya Calcote, Gwen Ruby, Barney Calcote, Jr. and Cindy Calcote; brother, Jerry Morgan; grandchildren, Kacey McPhail, Brooke Faust, Linzi Blacklidge, Hannah Grayson and Cody Calcote; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Elsie Dunaway; grandson, Kevin Hedgepeth; great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Bree Faust, and daughter-in-law, Angela Coon Calcote.
