Jeweline Douglas King
Mrs. Jeweline Douglas King, 73, of Monticello, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, June 7, 2019, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. A funeral service was held at New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello on Monday, June 10, with Pastors Kevin Crozier, Joey Faulk and Talmadge Smith officiating. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Jeweline retired from Georgia Pacific after 38 years of service. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Director and was on numerous committees, where she truly exhibited the fruits of the spirit. She loved spending time with her three grandchildren and watching them play ball. She was a member of the “Crafters” who met on Tuesdays, where they made many beautiful quilts. She also loved working and spending time with her husband, Holton, on their farm, where many memories were made.
Mrs. King is survived by her husband of 52 years, Holton King of Monticello; daughters, Kimberly White (Donnie) of Madison and Shannon Johnson of Monticello; sister, Gladys Tyrone of Monticello, and grandchildren, Hayden White, Julianna Johnson and Conner Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel Edward and Mary Ollie Smith Douglas; sisters, Mary Jarrell, Ida Ainsworth and Faye McCrocklin, and her brother, Paul Douglas.
