Mary Ann Caul Wood

Mrs. Mary Ann Caul Wood, 57, of Jayess, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019, at King’s Daughters Hospital in Brookhaven. Mary Ann was born December 6, 1961 in Tylertown to Harry and Mildred Hammond Caul.
Services were held Friday, May 24, 2019, at Wilson Funeral Home, with graveside services following at Tilton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Carlos Dawson, Bro. Scott Johnson and Bro. Matt Lambert officiated, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mary Ann was born the baby of the family, with five older siblings. She grew up helping her mama and family on the farm and enjoying good times with her many friends. She married her true love, Robert Wood, in 1981. She and Bob made a beautiful life together. She worked hard every day to provide for her family. They were blessed with two daughters, who grew up to be her very best friends. She and her girls loved living life together, and never missed a chance to travel, enjoy concerts together, go swimming, gardening, or just spend time running the roads. Their family expanded when she was blessed with two granddaughters, who were the light of her life. There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t embrace the privilege of taking her granddaughters to school, helping with homework, rocking them to sleep and giggling with them as they played dolls on the floor.
Mary Ann had a magnetic personality that just drew people to her. As a result, they were blessed by her very presence in their lives. She was a ray of sunshine to all those who knew her. She brought so much joy to the lives of others.
Her garden was always thriving; her flowers were always blooming bright; her pot plants were always lush and green, and her grass was always cut just so. She took great pride in the home place in which she grew up and still lived on.
Her life was one filled with love and blessings, laughter and sunshine, happiness and gratefulness. She loved the Lord and gave Him praise for all her many blessings and the true joy her life was filled with. Though she was taken from us way too soon, there is no doubt her life was a life well lived.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Robert Wood of Jayess; two daughters, Megan Wood and Monique Wood, both of Jayess; two brothers, Harold Caul (Lura) of Jayess and Champ Caul (Tami) of Ocean Springs; three sisters, Harriett Robbins, Joan Burt (Harold) and Yetta England, all of Jayess, and two granddaughters, Jaliyah, age 6, and Gabrielle, age 4.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
