Second “Clean-Up Day” Scheduled for March 23

The Town of Monticello, the Lawrence County Board of Supervisors and the Department of Environmental Quality will come together again this year for the second annual Monticello/Lawrence County Household Hazardous Waste Day.
Last year’s inaugural event was a great success, and organizers are looking for another good year. Lawrence County citizens are encouraged to load up hazardous materials for safe and proper disposal. Recommended items for disposal are aerosols, oil, fertilizers, poisons, batteries, paint, propane cylinders, corrosives, electrical wires and cables, computers, stereos and televisions.
Simply load up your items and come to Reid Road Loop-F.E. Sellers (around the Sportsplex in Monticello). You can relax in your car while volunteers unload and sort your items for proper disposal. The event will be held Saturday, March 23, from 8 a.m.-Noon.
Help keep toxic and dangerous rubbish off of roadways and away from water sources. Clean it Up, and help make Lawrence County beautiful and safe for all its residents and guests.
