Curtis Ray Kirkland
Mr. Curtis Ray Kirkland, 71, of Monticello, passed away January 15, 2019, at GV Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson. Curtis was born October 2, 1947, in Crystal Springs to James Curtis and Bennie Lee Lambert Kirkland.
Services were held Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Sauls Valley Baptist Church in Monticello, with graveside services following in Sauls Valley Cemetery. Bro. Winston Fortenberry officiated the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Curtis worked as a carpenter and painter; he served his country in the Vietnam area in the United States Army. Curtis loved his family; he was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Jewan Kirkland of Monticello; daughter, Tiffney Barnes and husband, Larry; sons, Wayne Kirkland and wife, Tina, and Tyson Kirkland and wife, Kayce; sister-in-law, Michelle Kirkland; six grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Trey Kirkland, Maddux Kirkland, Alissa Barnes, Ava Kirkland and Jacob Kirkland; one great-grandchild, Haven White, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tommy Kirkland, and sister, Martha Reid.
