Patricia Hillis Grothreer

Patricia Hillis Grothreer, 86, of Jayess, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at her residence.
She was born Janaury 20, 1932, in Arlington, Washington, to Charles and Florence Hillis.
In Washington, she grew up on the family farm, and also had a hand in the family logging business. After she graduated high school, she traveled to Washington, D.C., and worked in the typist pool for the FBI. There she met her husband, Charles, and they moved to New York. She loved traveling, loved her book, but most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tylertown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; her brothers, John, Martin, Joe, Charles and Fred, and one sister, Florence “Babe” Gale.
She is survived by two daughters, Florence Rayburn and husband, Larry, Sr., of Jayess and Patti DeBroeck and husband, Brocky, of Shreveport, Louisiana; one son, Aloysius Grothreer and wife, Trish, of Sherman, Texas; ten grandchildren, Steven Rayburn and wife, Jennifer, Larry Rayburn Jr. and wife, Paula, Charles Rayburn and wife, Kayce, Matthew Rayburn and wife, Regina, Al Grothreer, II and wife, Nicole, Vanessa Garrison and husband, TJ, Regina Ramey, Misty Smith and husband, Shane, Christopher DeBroeck and wife, Stephanie, and Michael DeBroeck and wife, Lauren; 21 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Catherine, Samantha, Larry III, Nora, Sabrina, Gabriel, Evan, Guilliana, Michael, Stori, Lin, Charlie, Evangeline, DJ, Logan, Addison, Hayden, Mason, Anna Claire and Hudson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport, Louisiana.
