Genola Beeson Davis

Ms. Genola Beeson Davis-Barlow, 89, of Monticello, formerly of Hazlehurst, passed away October 7, 2018, at Lawrence County Nursing Center, where she had been a resident for five years.
Services were held Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, with graveside services following in Monticello Municipal Cemetery. Bro. Terry Wallace and Bro. Matt Temple officiated, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Chuck Stokes, Dug Davis, Tyler Jones, Will Alsworth, Jackie Davis and Russ Berry.
Born November 22, 1928 in Monticello to TC and Amanda Lou Russell Beeson, Genola was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church, where she served as pianist and worked as Librarian in the Copiah County Library. She was a lady of many talents; she loved music, painting, sewing and cooking and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Burnell Beeson; two husbands, Troy Davis and Herbert Barlow, and two sons, Troy Davis, Jr., and Eric Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Davis Alsworth Jones (Mike) of Mendenhall; three sisters, Margaret Stokes and Delma Wallace, both of Monticello, and Diann Berry of New Hebron; two grandsons, Will Alsworth of Strasburg, Virginia, and Troy Davis of Vicksburg; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter, Breana Alsworth, and many nieces and nephews.
