Services for Mr. Shelton V. Smith were held Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Riverwood Family with interment at Riverwood Memorial Park.
Shelton V. Smith, 93, of Broohaven, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, September 24, 2018. He was born in Arm on September 10, 1925, to George R. Daniels and Julia Jolly Daniels.
Mr. Smith served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was also a retired repairman for AT&T along with being a member of Arm Baptist Church.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and spend time in his garden and absolutely adored fishing and making jigs. He loved spending time with his fishing buddies. Most of them looked up to him as a fatherly figure.
Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Julia Daniels; daughter, Janice Lynn, and brothers, Joe Jolly Daniels, Patrick Daniels and Robert Daniels.
Those left to cherish his memory are the love of his life of 71 years, his wife, Mattie G. Smith; precious daughters, Judy Adams and husband, Jimmy, Kathy McGehee and husband, Robert Earl, and Debbie Smith, along with one brother, Paul Daniels. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, who were so special to him, Kim A. Keene and husband, Ronnie, Dana Moak and husband, Dwayne, and Chae Richardson and wife, Nikki, along with his seven great-grandchildren, Derek Keene, Kaylee Beth Keene, Madison Moak, Brady Richardson, Brooke Richardson and Ty Montague.
