Thomas Dequeant

Mr. Thomas Dequeant, 62, was called home from this life August 24, 2018, at his residence in Silver Creek. Thomas was born July 18, 1956, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Sanford and Enis Dequeant.
Services were held Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag, with graveside services following in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Ed King officiated the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Thomas Dequeant, known by T-Bird or Tom to many friends, was a resident of Silver Creek for 25 years. He was an avid hunter and fisher. Tom enjoyed telling stories and spending time with friends. He never met a stranger and would help anyone who needed a helping hand. Tom was a loving husband to Cynthia for 37 years. He was a faithful companion to Mary Berry for the last two years.
Tom was the father of Brandy Wimbrow (Jason) of Slidell, Louisiana; Sherri Ervin (Delane) of Sontag and Thomas Dequeant (Gonca) of Wichita Falls, Texas. He has seven grandchildren: Katie Case, Alyssa Wimbrow, Tara Ervin, Allison Ervin, Maeleigh Dequeant, Alexander Dequeant and Jasmin Dequeant. He also has one great-grandchild, Wyatt Case.
He has one brother, Willie Dequeant, and four living sisters: Gereldean Brooks of Silver Creek, Francis Arceneaux of Pearl River, Louisiana, Margie Toney of Pearl River, Louisiana, and Theresa Mason of Lafitte, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Cynthia Dequeant, and sister, Delores Toyfa.
Pallbearers were John Brooks, Billy Price, Rocky Sanders, Larry Fuller, Jr., Tim Quinnelly and Paul Miller.
Honorary pallbearers were John Brooks, Jr., Bill Bourg and Emmit Bullock.
