Henry “Bubba” Bass
Mr. Henry “Bubba” Bass, 74, was called home from this life Saturday, August 18, 2018, at his residence in Monticello. Bubba was born April 20, 1944, in Monticello to “A” and “Tootsie” Bass.
Services were held Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Monticello Baptist Church in Monticello with graveside services following in Monticello Masonic Cemetery. Bro. Glynn Hilton, Bro. Tim McCaffrey and Bro. Ken Hedgepeth officiated the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Bubba retired from the IBEW after 50 years of service. He was a member of the Lawrence County Forestry, Jeff Davis Forestry, Lincoln County Forestry and the Mississippi Forestry Association, and also a member of Monticello Baptist Church since childhood. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, and loved his dog “Bay.” “Bubba” loved all his nieces and nephews, loved and was loved by a special aunt, Lydia Langston, and was also known as “Honey” by many beloved children.
Bubba is survived by his wife of 49 years, Hortense Castillo Bass of Monticello; children, Tammy Bass of Silver Creek, Tanya S. Vela (Rich) of McFarland, Wisconsin, Terry Bass (Trena) of Monticello, and Henry Bass (Destiny) of Gulfport; brother, Tommy Bass (Sue) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sister, Barbara Rose of Daphne, Alabama; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Hans Butler, William Thames, Steven Williams, Mark Dale, Jonathan Kiser and Mike McKennon.
Honorary Pallbearers were Larry Williamson and Kenneth Carr.
