Hazel Carolyn Loper King

Ms. Hazel Carolyn Loper King, 78, was called home from this life, August 18, 2018, at Crossgates Merit in Brandon. Carolyn was born August 22, 1939, in Monticello to John Alvin and Beatrice Ballard Loper.
Services were held Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello with graveside services following in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Tyrone Wells officiated the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, visiting with her family, and deeply loved her Savior Jesus Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Carolyn is survived by her children, daughter Terry (Donald) McAlpin of Brandon, son Curtis Allen King of Jackson and daughter Barbara “Sam” (Ricky) Stephens, also of Brandon; grandchildren Michela Haggerty (Dan), Caleb Stephens and Cambrey Barnette (Joey); great-grandchildren Daniel, Alexxa, Sidni and Maddox, all of Brandon; sister, Lorraine Hyde of Monticello, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Alvin and Beatrice Ballard Loper; brother, Edward Loper and sisters, Bernice Williamson and Pauline Lee.
