John Mark Riley, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. John Mark Riley, Sr. were held Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at New Hebron Baptist Church. Mr. Riley, 73, passed away from this life Saturday, June 2, 2018, at his residence in New Hebron. Reverend Mike Grenn officiated and interment was in the New Hebron Cemetery.
Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Nick Myers, Frank Riley, Corey Riley, Jason Riley, Drew Mayhugh, Matthew Emerson, Ben Smith and Dillon Quinn. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Charles Ray Tynes, Robert May, Robert Taylor and Jerry “Preacher” Bridges.
John Mark Riley, Sr, was born in New Hebron on August 8, 1944, to George Riley and Mary Nell Hutchins Riley. Mr. Riley was a professional auctioneer. John Mark Riley, Sr. was a Deacon and Past Sunday School Director at New Hebron Baptist Church. Over the years, he served on various committees and in many capacities at the Church he loved so dearly.
Mr. Riley was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was the Past President of the Mississippi Auctioneers Association and a former member of the Lions Club.
Mr. Riley was welcomed into Heaven by his mother and father; his daughter, Rhonda Riley Mayhugh, and two brothers, George Riley and Frank Riley.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Riley of New Hebron; his son, John Mark Riley, Jr., and his wife, Candy, of Silver Creek; his son-in-law, Tim Mayhugh of New Hebron; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Joe Riley, and his wife, Kaye, of New Hebron; his two sisters, Sabra Sullivan of Collins and Mary Nell Myers of Brandon, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make memorials to the New Hebron Baptist Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 37, New Hebron, MS 39140.
