Edward “Ed” Hammond
Ed, age 77, went to his heavenly home Monday, February 19, 2018. He was a native of Monticello and a resident of Hammond, Louisiana. Ed proudly served his country for six years in the US National Guard. He worked extremely hard as a welder for many years. Ed was a true Christian and an avid member of New Beulah Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and an honorable man who is deeply missed.
Ed is survived by his wife of 51 years, Reba Hammond; brother, Wayne Hammond and wife Susan of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Connie Hammond; brothers, Charles and Mack Hammond; great-uncle, Luke Pevey, and nephew, Scottie Hammond.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Beulah Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Divide Methodist Protestant Church in Monticello. Bro. Buddy Day officiated and interment followed in the church cemetery.
