Catherine L. Goad Davis

Catherine L. Goad Davis, known as Kathy to all who knew and loved her, went to her heavenly home January 27, 2018, where she is singing praises in the presence of Jesus. Kathy was full of energy and life. She loved her family, her church, and her pets that she lovingly called her “fur babies.” She was a resident of Silver Creek and a member of Bible Church of Silver Creek. Heaven has gained a precious angel!
She is survived by her husband, George S. Davis of Silver Creek; daughters and sons-in-law Margie and Frank Johnson of Mt. Hermon, Louisiana, Liz Redmond of Albany, Louisiana, Ethel and Gerald Walker of Monticello, Dorothy Goings of Mt. Hermon, Melda Ainsworth of Tickfaw, Louisiana and Lela Rose Davis of Pascagoula; sons and daughters-in-law, Monroe and Louise Redmond of Ethel, Louisiana, Woodrow and Misty Redmond of Dyersburg, Tennessee and William “Floyd” Redmond of Silver Creek. Kathy had 35 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Elsie and Sidney Johnson of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, Shirley Seal of Hensley, Arkanasas, Elbie and Bobby Brumfield of Norwood, Louisiana and Lauren McCreary of Watson, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Mitchell Goad and Alice Howard McCreary; a son, Jackie Redmond; two granddaughters, Renne Redmond Ford and Alice Redmond Henry; a great-grandson, Nathan Thomas; four sisters, Mary Goad Capace, Sadie Goad Worley, Pauline Goad Parker and Mavis Goad Cleveland; a brother, Russell Goad; a stepson, Scotty Davis and two sons-in-law, Bobby Earl Johnson and Billy Ray Goings.
Pallbearers are Steven Johnson, Alan Goings, Robert Redmond, Mitchell Redmond, Cody Redmond and William “Bobby” Redmond. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Redmond, B.J. Goings and Gavin Burch.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at Bible Church of Silver Creek, 1247 N.A. Sandifer Memorial Parkway, Silver Creek, officiated by Bro. Malcolm “Buck” Rester with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
