Murray Glynn Greer
Murray Glynn Greer, 87, of Gulfport, died December 12, 2017, at his daughter’s home in Gulfport.
Mr. Greer was born September 24, 1930, in Jayess and was the son of Theodore and Etha Greer.
His family said there was no finer man and to know him was to love him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and worked 16 years in civil service. He was a faithful member of Handsboro Baptist Church of Gulfport. Before moving to Gulfport, he was a longtime member of Live Oak Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida.
Mr. Greer was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 57 years, Zora Ballard Greer.
He is survived by one son, Keith Greer; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janet and Ruben English, Pam Richardson, and Delynn and Darryl Roberts; grandsons, Jim Douglas and wife Sabrina, Chris English and wife Amy, Allen Roberts and Wade Roberts and wife Melissa; granddaughters, Angela Michael and husband John, and Kim Jefferson and husband Miles; great-grandchildren, Christopher Douglas, Landon and Reid Jefferson, Hannah and Charlotte Michael, Aubrey, Noah and Ryan Roberts, and Lane and Adaline English; one brother, Mitchel Greer and his wife, Eunice, of Jayess; one sister-in-law, Betty Boyd and her husband, Jerome, of Jayess, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The service was held Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home in Crestview, Florida with pastor Darryl Roberts officiating. Burial was at Heritage Gardens in Niceville, Florida.
