Joe Henry “Peewee” Rutland
Joe Henry “Peewee” Rutland, 54, was called home from this life on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at University Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Peewee was born August 6, 1963, in Tylertown to John “Buck” Thomas and Evon Dunaway Rutland.
Services were held Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church with graveside services following in Calvary United Pentecostal Cemetery. Bro. Ray Bowling presided over the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rutland enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing and hunting and having cookouts with family and friends. He loved his church and church family. Peewee worked on his land with his wife beside him. He enjoyed doing everything he could with Teresa.
Surviving Peewee are his wife of 35 years, Teresa Garris Rutland of Jayess; daughter, Cassey Brister of Monticello; six grandchildren, Blaze Brister, Taylor Brister, Wyatt Brister, Audrie Taylor, Josie Bowen and Kimmie Bowen; four brothers, Braxton Rutland of Bolton, Wendell Rutland of Jayess, Thomas Rutland of Jayess and Donald Rutland of Jayess and four sisters, Birdie Mae Temple of Florida, Glenda Mulberry of Clinton, Bonnie Phillips of Jayess and Jeannett Perry of McComb.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Joe Henry Rutland Jr. and one brother, Pat Rutland.
