Services for Mrs. Alvie Elouise Burns Myers of Brookhaven were held Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Riverwood with a private burial at Bethel Temple Cemetery.
Mrs. Alvie, 83, of Brookhaven, passed away December 13, 2017, at Countrybrook Living Center. She was born on October 7, 1934, to William “Ted” Clarence Burns and Lillian Hayes Burns. She was a retired Care Giver and was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Alvie was a loving mother and grandmother and spent many hours with her grandchildren playing games and enjoying them. She will be missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Martin and J.C. Meyers; parents; sons, Edward Martin and Danny “Boone” Martin; sisters, Lavon Laird and Marie Lenoir; brothers, Bill Burns and Clifton Burns; granddaughter, Nicole King Daughdrill and grandson, Eli Holmes.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gordon Martin and wife, Esther, Malcom Meyers and wife, Shirley, Curtis Meyers and wife, Kathy, and Pat Meyers and wife, Rhonda; daughters, Martha Marin, Rhonda Wallace and husband, Ken, and Diane Ratcliff and husband, Marwyn; brothers, Ronnie Burns and wife Patsy, and Troy Burns; sisters, Teddy Perere and husband, Earl, and Lucille Hicks; 34 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and grandson, Ira King.
The family would like to thank the staff at Countrybrook for the love and care they gave her. She loved each and every one and thought of them not only as her caregivers but her family.
