Nonnie Mae Norman
Nonnie Mae Norman, 89, of Hazlehurst was called home from this life on November 10, 2017, at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello. Ms. Nonnie was born November 15, 1927 in Kentwood, Louisiana to Bill and Iris Morgan.
Services were held Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, with graveside services following in Hazlehurst City Cemetery in Hazlehurst. Bro. James Sanders officiated the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Norman would have been 90 years old on the 15th of November and was the last living member of her family. She loved God with all of her heart and wanted everyone to know Him and love Him. She talked always of how her Grannie would read the Bible by kerosene lamp every night when she was a little girl, and how she taught her to trust and love God. She taught us three children to love God. We love you Mother. We thank you for teaching us; we will never forget. Though she is absent from her earthly body, she is present with the Lord. There will never be a day when she is not missed by those of us left behind who love her so much- Thomas, Linda, Barbara, Kenny and J.W.
Surviving Ms. Norman are her son, Thomas Franklin Norman of Monticello and daughters, Linda Gandy of Monticello and Barbara Sue Runnels of Hazlehurst.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Troy Norman; two brothers, Clyde and Clinton Morgan and four sisters, Delorise Martin, Valentine Erwin, Willie Miller and Nettie Lockhart.
