Iris “Sue” Jernigan

Iris “Sue” Jernigan, 67, was called home from this life on October 16, 2017 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Iris was born January 2, 1950 in Natchez to Ernest Easley Golemon Sr. and Lois Rollins King.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Silver Creek, and continuing Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 9 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with graveside services following in Prentiss Cemetery in Prentiss. Rev. Lloyd Rollins will officiate the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Sue enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving Sue are her sisters, Marlene Morse of Pearl and Theresa Ryan of Flora; brother, Glynn Street (Stephanie) of Florida; family friend Susan Reynolds (Jimmy “Hogg”) of Silver Creek; son, Michael Gibbs (Gina) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Madison Grimes, Renee Grimes, Maryssa Grimes, Laylee Grimes, Alexis Butler, Hannah Butler, Emily Gibbs, Ayden Gibbs and Eli Gibbs; aunts, Brenda Hartzog and Joyce Bass and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Lois Myers and one brother, Ernest Golmon.
