George Kenneth Crosby, Sr.
Funeral services for Chaplain Lt. Col. George Kenneth Crosby, Sr. were held Friday, July 7, 2017 at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven with burial to follow at a later date in the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. A local memorial service was held at Bahalia Chapel in Sontag following the funeral. Chaplain Julian Davis officiated the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Chaplain Crosby, 85, of Moselle, passed from this life on Sunday, July 2, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 25, 1931, in Sontag to George Louis Crosby and Jessie Harrison Crosby Case. He enjoyed farming and gardening, and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents; step-father, Ras Case; son, David Beal Crosby; brother, Dennis Earl Case and brother-in-law, Luther Garrett.
Survivors are his son, George Kenneth Crosby, Jr and wife Theresa of Sontag; daughter, Terri Crosby Pogue and husband Tony of Moselle; grandchildren, Kenny Crosby, Alexis Crosby, Cayla Crosby, Matthew Crosby, Micah Pogue, Jesse Pogue, Jerah Pogue and Rayah Pogue; great-grandchildren Annalise Crosby and Jacob Crosby; sisters, Barbara Crosby Garrett of Sontag; Carolyn Boleware Case, of Jackson; Lucille Case King of Brookhaven and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial in Chaplain George Kenneth Crosby’s name may be made to the Baptist Children’s Village or the Gideon’s.
