Rolland L. Clark

“Rolly” passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Lawrence County Hospital. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on January 14, 1942.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. Rolly would quickly tell you that he was not a “Yankee” but a “Mid-westerner.” He was a “people” person; one with a big heart, great personality and a gift of gab- at times making it a little difficult to tell “fact from fiction.”
God’s path for Rolly finally brought him to Monticello. You may have seen him parked at the library, service station or Ramey’s in his black Volvo (packed from end to end with his “stuff’).
He stated many times that he had never before been welcomed or cared for as he was by the people of Monticello. He felt as if he had come home. In his stead, we would like to thank all of you who helped him in so many ways and, more importantly, got to know and appreciate this gentleman. He was overwhelmed with your kindness and acceptance.
Thanks to the wonderful people of Lawrence County Nursing Home for their loving care in his last days and to the men’s Sunday school class of Monticello Baptist Church for their friendship.
