Polly Wilson Reid King
Polly Wilson Reid King returned to our Father in Heaven on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the age of 79. She was a devoted mother to her children and a good friend to all. She loved cooking and shared her gift with many. For several years she babysat, later she worked at Stana-Cola Pathology Lab. Then for many years she worked as a caterer for Ashley Manor where she retired.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 18, 2015, at Wilson Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Funeral services will be Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello. The graveside service will follow in the Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born March 19, 1936 in Monticello to the late John H. Wilson and Ada Hedgepeth Wilson. She married Norman Reid February 25, 1955, they later divorced. She later re-married Donald M. King on July 20, 2002 of Arlington, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Ada Wilson, brothers James Carroll “Jim,” Ray Robert, Hardin Alexander “A,” John Reecy, James Edward “Thomas,” William Dudley, Hebert Ervin and Homer “Buster” Wilson; and sisters Emma Russell, Amanda Rhea Wells, Maybelle Beam and two infant sisters.
Survivors are Brenda Diane Reid of Prairieville, Louisiana, Robert N. Reid of Baton Rogue, Louisiana, Ramona Reid Roberts (John) of Rigby, Idaho and Jeff Reid (Lisa) of Baton Rogue, Louisiana. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Bobby Longmire (Laurel), Angela Macaluso (KJ), Brittany Reid, Jessica Smith (Hyrum), John Henry Roberts, Megan Reid, Christopher Reid and Colton Floyd; 5 great-grandchildren, Airelle Bloomfield, Logan Longmire, Faith Macaluso, Brianna Macaluso and Gracey Law; and sisters, Wadie Wilson, Mary McNeese, and Modena Wilson (sister-in-law), all of Monticello, and Kay Courson of Kinston, Alabama.
