Florence “Faye” Pierce

Florence “Faye” Pierce, age 91, residing in Sarasota, Florida, passed peacefully away in the early hours of Saturday, November 7, 2015.

Florence Driscoll was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on January 7, 1924. She married to Victor E. Pierce of Monticello on August 24, 1951, and they remained married until the time of Victor’s passing in 1989. Florence graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1946 from Clark University and was in the Phi Beta Kappa sorority. She was an elementary school teacher for many years, later working with children’s special needs as an academic diagnostician. “Faye” loved education, and traveled the world as she raised a family, living in Aruba, Madrid, Paris, London, and Houston before retiring to Sarasota with her husband. She was buried at Galilee Baptist Church cemetery on Saturday, November 14th at 10:00 am at her husband’s side. There will be a graveside service for friends and family.
