Warren B. “Shug” Hall
Warren B. “Shug” Hall, 90, of Monticello died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello. Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Monticello United Methodist Cemetery following services. Wilson Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hall was born on January 30, 1924 to Hubert Jackson Hall and Annie H. Roper Hall. He was loved by everyone that knew him. He was educated at Whitworth College after serving three years in the U.S. Navy in Guam. There he was a trained ship gyro technician.
He was a long-standing member of the Monticello United Methodist Church.
After his discharge,he worked in his father’s mechanical contracting business. He took over this business when his father became ill.
His main interests in life were inventing all types of mechanical and electrical devices, many of which improved the performance of the company. He loved fishing, flying his airplane and building all types of useful mechanisms such as a power mower, fishing boats and spectools.
Mr. Hall is preceded in death by his parents and his deceased siblings Ouida Hall, Mary Virginia Hall, Jim Hall and Sadieth (Dee Dee) Berry of Bowling Green, Ky.
He is survived by his brother Bill Hall and wife Charlotte of Huntsville, Ala. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
