    Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church will host their “Women and Men Conference 2017” on Saturday, April 15, from 8 a.m.-Until. Speakers for the event will be Evangelist Leetoria Roberson and Minister Avery Daniels of Oak Grove M.B. Church. Breakfast will be served from 8-9 a.m. and lunch will also be served during the event.

    The Southwest Chapter of ABATE will have its 27th Annual Motorcycle Rodeo at the Atwood Water Park Pavilion in Monticello on Saturday, April 22. The gate, located at the tennis courts, will open at 9 a.m. with a Fun Run starting at 10 a.m. Gate fees are $10 for members, $15 for non-members, $5 for ages 11-18, and children 10 and under get in free. T-shirts and ABATE products will be available. Motorcycle games start at 4 p.m. There will be raffles, 50/50 drawing, and Trophy presentation at 6 p.m. Jam session will be at 7 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Southwest Mississippi Children’s Advocacy in McComb.     The annual Pinola School Reunion will be held Saturday, April 29, with doors opening at 9 a.m. with registration of attendees. A short business meeting will begin at 11 a.m. with discussions of future upgrades and plans. Lunch will be served at 11:30 for $10 per plate and will include a choice of chicken or pulled pork, beans, slaw, a roll and tea, with all proceeds benefitting the maintenance of the building. After lunch will be an afternoon of visiting and renewing of old friendships and classmates. All former classmates and teachers are encouraged to attend.
